Some more smoothie love!! Seriously though guys, I'm a huge fan of smoothie/green juice drinks. They make my daily life so much better. I've talked about the Blender Babes site before on this blog, they are my go to place for drink ideas.
When I came across the Dr.Oz Cinnamon Roll Smoothie I knew I had to try it. Because I am trying to cut down on my calorie intake (thank god for myfitnesspal), I tweaked the recipe. It was amazing!!!! It really had this great cinnamon taste but it wasn't too overwhelming.
My take on the "Cinnamon Roll Smoothie"
20 almonds, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp pure vanilla extract , 3 pitted dates, 2 drops stevia, 2 tbsp Harmonized Vanilla Protein Powder, 1 tbsp hemp seeds, 1 cup ice.
Blend all together in a high speed blender. The calorie count was around 236 calories. If you prefer, you could switch it around by taking out the stevia and maybe only using 1 tsp vanilla.
I love mugs! All sorts of mugs... they could be plain or with writing on them, anything goes. When I saw these at Starbucks I really wanted to buy them but they were $7.95 and I already have so many mugs so I couldn't justify it. I stopped by Starbucks (in the Chapters @ Square One) and they were on sale for $4.49!!!! WHAT!!!! I couldn't resist them under the $5.00 mark, so I bought 2! I love how simple they are and feel that they work really well on a rustic tabletop.
AND NOW FOR MY GIVEAWAY!!!!!
I've never had a give away before and considering I blog mainly about home renovations you would think I was going to give something that had to do with that.
NOPE - friends, my give away is chocolate!!!
I recently emailed Alter Eco and asked if their new flavour, the Dark Salted Brown Butter chocolate, would be available in Canada. They advised me it wouldn't be until the end of the year due to language labelling, but asked if I would like a care package. Ummmmmm YA SURE! I mean who wouldn't want a care package? I wasn't expecting a whole box full of chocolates!
There are so many reasons why I enjoy Alter Eco chocolate, but one of the main reasons I love them is that they are certified gluten free. This is a very necessary consideration for me and something I have to look for in all my food purchases. You would be surprised at how many chocolate bars have gluten in them! The second biggest reason is the simple ingredient list and the company's dedication to producing organic products. I hope you take the time to read more about their story here.
I've decided that one lucky person needs to try these out with me! I am giving away 5 different flavours from the chocolate bar line plus some truffles!
All you need to do is leave a comment stating which flavour you think you would enjoy most AND for extra entries follow both myself and Alter Eco on Twitter using the Rafflecopter entry form below.
Give away will end Tuesday, May 6th. (Only open to Canadian residents)
PS: For GTA residents, I was able to find Alter Eco products in Whole Foods and Bulk Barn!
